VIEW ITINERARY

Day 1: TEXAS, HERE WE COME! We will be stopping for our included morning coffee and roll break and lunch, on own. We’ll cross Iowa and Missouri to our overnight in Topeka, Kansas. We’ll get better acquainted with our fellow passengers at our Welcome Reception and Dinner this evening. (CS,D)

Day 2: After a very nice included breakfast, we will board our coach and continue south into Oklahoma where we will visit the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. This is a first-class stop with magnificent art. Lunch is available here, on own. This afternoon we will enter Texas and head to the Ft. Worth area of Irving, Texas, for our 2-night stay. The evening will be free to have dinner on your own (B)

Day 3: Following included breakfast, our guide will meet us for a full-day tour of the great cities of Ft. Worth and Dallas including the JFK Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas and the historic Stockyards of Ft Worth. You will be present for their famous cattle drive through the Stockyards district. We will see many areas of interest today then later, we return to our hotel with your evening free to have dinner on own. (B)

Day 4: While luggage is being loaded onto the coach, breakfast is included. We are going to head south to Austin, the capital of Texas, and do a short driving tour. Lunch will be on your own. Johnson City and the LBJ Ranch is on our schedule today. You will enjoy seeing LBJ and Lady Bird’s beloved Texas White House and Ranch. Continuing west to Fredericksburg, you will learn about Admiral Chester Nimitz at the outstanding National Museum of the Pacific War. This Museum is dedicated to honor the memory of the many who sacrificed and contributed to our Victory. Arriving in San Antonio and getting checked into our hotel for 3 nights. (B)

Day 5: After an included breakfast we’ll enjoy a guided tour of San Antonio including a visit to the Mission San Jose, the San Fernando Cathedral and the highlight, “The Alamo” including the Alamo Imax Theater for the true story of the battle. The Briscoe Western Art Museum will be a short visit before returning to the Drury Inn. Your evening is free to enjoy the complimentary Reception at the Drury with drinks and food or stroll the River Walk to dine. (B)

Day 6: Breakfast will be included again this morning. Everyone will enjoy being on the River for an entertaining 1-hour narrated Barge Cruise after breakfast. The remainder of your day is yours to enjoy your surroundings. (B)

Day 7: After our enjoyable included breakfast with our luggage loaded, we depart San Antonio to head east to Houston. You will be very informed by our visit to the Lyndon B. Johnson NASA Space Center. After lunch on own, the Gulf is our destination this afternoon for a 2-night stay on Galveston Island. We will gather for an included dinner after settling into our accommodations. The Gulf is across the boulevard from our Inn so is accessible for a nice walk. (B) (D)

Day 8:  Our Galveston guide will meet us at our hotel after we have included breakfast. She will spend her morning showing off the historic district, neighborhoods and Moody Gardens.   Moody Gardens is a vast premier educational facility.  This huge learning center has 3 pyramids and we’ll experience the “Rainforest”.  This pyramid has more than 1700 exotic plants and animals from Asia, the Americas, and Africa.  Those who wish to shop and have lunch on the Strand may do so and our driver will return to pick you up.  Your evening will be free to enjoy the breezes and dine on your own. Day 9:  While our luggage is being loaded on the coach, breakfast is included.  Departing the Gulf, we start back north this morning en-route to our overnight in Norman, Oklahoma.  A morning break and lunch stop, on own, will be taken.  Your evening will be free to relax and have dinner on own. (B)

Day 10:  An included breakfast starts our day then we head to Oklahoma City and do a drive around the capital.   We will stop at the Oklahoma City Memorial for a brief visit. We do not take time to the Memorial Museum.  After lunch on own, we arrive in Claremore to visit the Will Rogers Memorial and Museum.  The orientation, film clips and exhibits about Will are exceptional.  We will cross into Missouri and Kansas to arrive in Lenexa for our overnight and included Farewell Dinner. Day 11:  An included breakfast will be enjoyed by all as luggage is loaded onto the coach. Our travels take us north today for a morning break in northern Missouri and a lunch stop, on own, in Iowa.  We return to the Twin Cities with wonderful warm memories of Texas and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
